Katherine Stefl
Costume Historian, Designer, and Technologist
Katherine specializes in period clothing design and technology. She continues to study how period clothing impacts immersive experience in an educational environment. Her experiences includes work at The Valentine Museum, Monticello, The Collection of Historic Dress at UVA, and The Henry Ford Museum of Innovation. She has studied mid-nineteenth century fashion for 10 years and continues to contribute to this topic. Her work includes designing a period wedding dress to be displayed as a historical garment at The Henry Ford Museum's Holiday Nights event. Her more recent work includes designing exhibits for the Warner Museum in Michigan.
Katherine has a BFA in theatre design and technology from Western Michigan University with a focus in costume design and technology. In May 2020 she graduated with her MFA in costume design and technology. She is also a member of The Costume Society UK.
